Glacier / Mountain

The rugged Norwegian Mountains are packed with opportunities for adventure and exploration. Scaling walls, discovering caves, taking in breathtaking vistas and more. The availability and proximity to world class mountains is unmatched. We offer a variety of trips and courses designed to maximise the beauty surrounding us here in Meløy. To truly experience the freedom of the hills you need to access these mountains from all directions, above, on the side, and underneath.

A glacier is a distinctive world. The ice is a deep blue colour and forms summits and ridges with deep crevasses in between. Svartisen is the second largest glacier in Norway and covers an incredible 372 km2 of the country in ice. Our access point to the glacier is the lowest of any of the European mainland, at about 100 meters above sea level. These surroundings are perfect for a range of activities. We have several trips and difficulty levels to choose from.

Here´s a quick overview of the trips we have planned in the near future. If you wish to book a trip outside of these days, please don´t hesitate to contact us at

Level of difficulty

Moderate fitness and agility is required. The precise route and challenges on the glacier will be adjusted to fit each group´s capabilities. No technical requirements or experience is needed.

Minimum age: 12 years. Previous mountain experience for children is recommended.

A typical day trip takes about 6 hours, including about 3 hours on the ice. But to make the most of it, an extra day in the area could inspire other adventures.

The ice climbing event takes about 3 hours, depending on the size of the group. This does not include the time it takes to travel to the glacier.

Our glacier course is broken into two mini-courses. ‘Blue Ice’ and ‘Snow Covered Ice’ each are 3 days duration. They can be booked together or separately. Date: Private course only.
